Amazon to provide SQL Server "Cloud" Offering

Image representing Amazon.com as depicted in C...Image via CrunchBase

A week after all the hype of Oracles/Amazon’s EC2 cloud offering, Amazon has also announced that it will be providing an EC2 SQL Server Cloud offering shortly.  As previously discussed these aren’t really what most people think of as “cloud databases” instead they are just self provisioned hosted solutions.

Microsoft is probably saving the fanfare until the service is actually available.
