Update: Oracles Cloud Offering
Image via Wikipedia
I wrote yesterday how Oracles Cloud Offering seemed to be just a hosted version of their standard apps, WSJ has published a post with Larry Ellison quoted as saying:
“We’ll make cloud computing announcements. I’m not going to fight this thing. But I don’t understand what we would do differently in the light of cloud computing other than change the wording of some of our ads. That’s my view.”
His point I think is that Cloud Computing is a buzz word that is being bantered about in relation to any and every application that is internet connected. That is a common problem with buzz words is that they loose all meaning over time. But I am not sure simply contributing to the problem is the right solution.
